COMMON MYTH ABOUT FINDING A SEC 8 TENANT

Myth:        It is easier to rent out a unit when a tenant doesn’t have to pay a real estate broker a commission.

Reality
:  Most times, the broker fee and security deposit is subsidized by DSS and costs the tenant nothing, especially in emergency housing situations. By not using a real estate broker, the landlord loses the services (always FREE!) of a highly trained, competent rental expert, like Tim Larkin, in their quest to locate a suitable tenant for their housing accommodations.

Furthermore:  By not using a broker, you lose access to the best tenants; the ones with the impeccable house keeping qualities (non-slobs) who almost always use the FREE services of a qualified real estate broker in their search for available sec 8 living quarters.

Translation:  By not using a real estate broker to successfully market your sec 8 rentals, you limit your choices, and may get stuck with an inferior tenant that disrespects your property and trashes your unit. A problem that some amateur landlords live with on a monthly basis. A Professional Landlord avoids this problem by hiring a real estate broker who works tirelessly to get the right neat ones in.
